As I’ve mentioned before, some time ago, during a journey through southern Italy, I was handed a fistful of garlic by a small woman dressed entirely in black. I still remember her face, carved from stone, weathered yet resolute, and those eyes—sharp, piercing, as though they could see far beyond the ordinary.

Someone later told me she had once been a seer, a woman who glimpsed the unknown. Looking back, it felt like receiving more than just garlic, as if it carried a fragment of her story, her mysteries, her visions.
